How it all works
We will offer you a discount of 10% if you book any van for longer than 1 week .
We pride ourselves on being as flexible as possible so if you do not see the dates you require please give us a call to discuss.
Booking Process
Using our on line availability page please check to see if the dates you require are free, please check the pricing for these dates. If your dates show as available then please give us a call to proceed with your booking. When you call we will ask you a few questions to ensure you are eligible to drive one of our vans and of course we will answer any questions that you have. Please make sure you have read and understood our terms and conditions.
Booking Deposit, Final Payment and Security Deposit
At the time of booking we only require a deposit of £100. The balance is then due 4 weeks prior to the hire date. If you make a booking less than 4 weeks prior to the hire date then full payment is required at the time of booking. You can pay us by sending a cheque, or if you use internet banking you can send a bank transfer on line. We will supply you our bank details at the time of booking. We can also send you an invoice via Paypal which means you can use a credit card. Which ever payment option you go for, VW Campers Cornwall will send you confirmation of booking and payment only when we receive your booking deposit. Remember we will need your security deposit at the time of collection in cash, if you have not already cleared the funds by cheque, internet banking or Paypal.
Parking and Pick Up
We have parking available on our small-holding. If you need picking up from a local destination then please just ask and we will do this free of charge. We can also arrange to pick you up from other destinations such as Newquay airport.
What do you need to bring
Remember Archie is not an American style "Winnebago "so space is limited. The van is fully equipped but you will need your toiletries, clothes, and all your own bedding, sleeping bags, towels and children's bedding or travel cots. We can hire you a set of bedding for 2 adults which would include a double sleeping bag, inner sheet sleeping bag, pillows and pillow cases and towels at a charge of £30.00. We would also advise that you take out holiday insurance to cover your personal belongings. Our vans have seat belts in the front and back but you need to supply your own child seats or booster seats. Bringing good weather helps but if you don't there are still plenty of things to do-bring your waterproofs as well as your sun cream!
There will be a complimentary welcome pack with a Cornish cream tea on your arrival.
Campsites
Cornwall is well served with campsites. We are members of The Camping and Caravan Club, which enables our guests to take part in a "privilege scheme" on most of their club sites at a discounted rate. See our links for further information.
Is a campervan difficult to drive?
Archie does have a big steering wheel and no power steering. We will give you a full demonstration of how everything works and then take you on a short "practice drive " if you have not driven a campervan before.
What sort of fuel consumption will I get?
Not as good as the car you use at home. Archie was born before fuel consumption was a worry but he does have a new genuine VW replacement engine that has been recently fitted, so he is better than most, probably returning approximately 26 mpg when driven carefully.
Can we see the campervan before booking?
Of course you can if you are in Cornwall. Give us a call first to ensure Archie is at home.
